DESTINATION KNOWLEDGE IS KEY!

In September we facilitated a familiarization trip for a group of travel advisors to experience the Costa Rican pura vida way of life firsthand. One of our priorities is equipping advisors with destination awareness to successfully sell Costa Rica to clients. Travel advisors are the gatekeepers and voice of the travel industry, and these trips allow us to develop and build upon trade relationships. It's a great opportunity for us to showcase the amazing activities, eateries and experiences the country has to offer. Become a destination specialist to be considered for our 2024 familiarization trip!

Blue Zones

Did you know Costa Rica was featured on the Netflix series “Live to 100: Secrets of the Blue Zones” (episode 3), where the pura vida lifestyle is highlighted through gastronomy and tradition? A blue zone is a region of the world where people live extraordinarily long and vibrant lives – longer than average. Guanacaste takes pride in being recognized as one of five such zones that exist worldwide. The zone includes the five cantons of the Nicoya Peninsula: Hojancha, Nandayure, Carrillo, Santa Cruz and Nicoya.

Gandoca-Manzanillo National Wildlife Refuge

Gandoca-Manzanillo is a National Wildlife Refuge in which the combination of land, beach and sea landscapes along with the local culture make for an ideal destination for visitors. The conservation and sustainable management of these ecosystems is carried out in parallel with community participation, leading to the protection of threatened species such as manatees and sea turtles. Its most important ecosystems are the golden sand beaches and wetlands: swamps, lagoons, reefs, beds of undersea plants and seaweed.
