Mayor's Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony | Nov. 23

Watch Mayor Sly James and a special celebrity guest flip the switch on one of the tallest Christmas Trees in the nation. Belt out your favorite Christmas carols, sip on hot cocoa and skate on Downtown KC’s only outdoor ice rink. It doesn’t get any more festive than this! The party starts at 5:30, and admission is free.

He’s holly, he’s jolly and he’s coming to town! His first stop? Crown Center, of course! Be there for Santa Claus to make his grand entrance at 10 a.m. on Nov. 23, and don’t forget to bring your wish list! He’ll then make his way to Gingerbread Station, where he’ll stay right up until Dec. 24.

Santa’s Gingerbread Station is where all the holiday action is! Take a trip through the interactive exhibit, hop on board the Holiday Express, and get your picture taken with Santa himself. Professional photos are available for a fee, or you are welcome to take your own photos for free.

The theme for this year’s Mayor's Christmas Tree Ornament is “All Aboard.” Made from the wood of last year’s Christmas tree, these highly collectible ornaments go on sale Friday, November 23. Limited quantities are available, so get your order in now!
