Facebook now enables users to tap a Book Now button and has easy to use tap to call or messaging features with the venues. Facebook's latest move into the travel ecosystem could be seen as a big challenge to Google, which launched Google Trips in September featuring "Things to do" and the ability to create "Day plans" in a given locale.

Updates are currently retail focused but include areas that may impact travel ads including updates to categories for dynamic ads and ads designed to bridge the gap between the online planning and the in-store purchase.
instagram Instagram Stories gets 'quote tweet'-style feed post resharing:
The resharing tool has been spotted by a small group of users and is currently in testing phases as confirmed by Instagram.
instagram Instagram has unreleased 'nametag' scanning, adds # & @ links to profiles:
Today, Instagram is starting to let users link to hashtags and other accounts from their profile. Users will now be able to add links to several hashtags of content on Instagram so they can show off their favorite subcultures and topics. Users also will be able to provide links to other accounts, helping people promote other accounts, pledge allegiance to their favorite creator or shout out their significant other.

Instagram is updating its algorithm to make sure that newer posts will be more likely to appear first in your feed. Along with the updated algorithm, Instagram is also testing a "New Posts" button that will let users choose when they'd like to refresh the feed. It replaces the current system, where the feed could refresh automatically and fling users back to the top without warning.
twitter Twitter is working on a camera-first feature that could threaten Snap:
Twitter is working on a camera-first feature that could change the emphasis on the platform from text to video and images, giving advertisers a competitor to one of Snap's most popular advertising opportunities, according to three senior agency executives who are familiar with the product. The new function would combine location-based photos and videos with Twitter Moments around notable events. Companies could sponsor events or place ads in between tweeted real-time photos and videos.
pinterest Pinterest Shopping Ads Are Now Available to More Brands:
With Shopping Ads, Pinterest uses its visual search technology to bring users to the items in retailers' product feeds that they would most likely be interested in purchasing. "Hundreds of businesses" are getting access to Pinterest Shopping Ads, which it began testing with "a couple of dozen" retailers – including Ulta, Venus, Overstock, Lowe's, eBay, Wayfair and IKEA Canada.
snapchat Snapchat's @-tagging test could help brands & influencers build their follower numbers:
Snapchat's latest feature is giving users the ability to tag another user in a Story. According to a Snap spokesperson, the feature is in "test mode" and currently works for any account, including organic brand accounts.
