Facebook Makes it Easier to Create Ads on the Go with Ads Manager Enhancements: Facebook has added a new suite of creative tools to its Ads Manager app in order to better enable advertisers to create campaigns from their mobile devices. Originally spotted in testing last month, the new tools will make it much easier to build an effective, eye-catching Facebook ad, through the use of simple, mobile-specific tools. The new tools include Text Overlay and Text Policy Checker, Image Cropper, Templates, Shapes, Stickers, Logos and Color Filters. |

Twitter Will Start Showing Related Topics in Hashtag Listings: It seems like a fairly minor update, but the new feature could help users get a better handle on the entire breadth of related on-platform discussion, while it may also enable Twitter to remove repeated trends from their listings, giving them more room to highlight other relevant discussions. For brands, this could help when looking to tap into trending topics. |

Instagram's 'Do Not Disturb' and 'Caught Up' Deter Overgramming: Instagram is turning the Time Well Spent philosophy into features to help users avoid endless scrolling and distraction by notifications. Instagram rolled out a "You're All Caught Up —You've seen all new posts from the past two days" warning in the feed. While sorting the feed has made it much better at displaying the most interesting posts, it also can make people worry they've missed something. This warning should give them peace of mind. |

Instagram Adds the Questions Sticker, A New Way to Poll Your Friends: The company is introducing a new twist on polling with the questions sticker, which lets your friends submit questions for you to answer in a subsequent Story post. Instagram says it's "a way to start conversations during moments when you don't necessarily have a photo or video to share" In other words, it's a way to ensure that people continue posting even if they have totally run out of content ideas. |

Snapchat's Reportedly Developing a New Visual Product Discovery Option: Snapchat could be looking to add a new eCommerce element to its platform, with reports suggesting that Snap's working on a new process which would enable users to identify and buy products by 'scanning' them through the Snapchat camera. The back-end code of the Snapchat app includes references to a new search process which would enable users to "press and hold" while using the Snapchat camera to "identify an object, song, barcode, and more". The new process appears to be a significant extension of this, adding in object recognition, which would then highlight visually similar products on Amazon. That process sounds a lot like Pinterest's Lens tool, which enables users to scan in objects and find related visual matches on the platform. |

Pinterest Adds New User Insights Section to Underline Brand Opportunities: Pinterest launched a collection of user profiles which are representative of its audience base. The short summaries outline who these people are, what they're interested in, and why they use the platform. The stories, which Pinterest will expand on over time, provide more context as to why people come to the platform, which will help businesses to better assess the potential fit within their strategic approach. But more than that, they also underline why Pinterest is growing, and the expanding array of opportunities within the app. |
