Facebook has announced an update to the Facebook data tracking Pixel which will provide additional options for businesses looking to work with third-party providers to merge point of sale data with Facebook performance. The new process will require businesses to explain their relationship with the partner organization they want to share data with.
instagram Instagram Announces Advanced Analytics Beta:
Instagram has begun testing enhanced measurement as part of Facebook Analytics to help marketers better track audiences and engagement. The software tool expands tracking from website clicks, impressions, new followers and Story exits to show lifetime value, retention rates, audience overlaps with website visitors, app downloads and Facebook likes, among other features.
instagram Instagram Launches New Crackdown on Fake Followers Gained via Third Party Apps:
Instagram is beginning a new push to eliminate inauthentic followers and likes gained via the use of performance-boosting tools in an effort to improve authenticity on the app. This could be a major blow to many prominent users, as various investigations have found that fake follower and like services are widely utilized across social platforms.
instagram Instagram's Instant Promote Ads for Stories:
A new ad type called "Promote" for Stories allows Instagram business pages to show their ephemeral slideshows to more users without doing too much work. Admins can choose to auto-target users similar to their followers, people in a certain location, or use all of Instagram's queue of more users as an ad that can also link to business' Instagram profile or website.
instagram Instagram Rolls Out New Option to Share IGTV Content in Stories:
Instagram hopes to improve the reach of IGTV content by making it easier for users to share directly to their Stories. IGTV hasn't exactly taken off the way Instagram would have hoped, but parent company Facebook has said that they have plans to grow the option in the future.
pinterest Pinterest's New Promoted Carousel Ads Will Display Up to 5 Swipe-able Images in a Single Ad:
Pinterest rolled out a new ad format, Promoted Carousel, that allow brands to include up to five images. The ads will display in a user's feed like a regular Pin, but users will be able to swipe through the images directly in their feed or tap to display one of the five images and launch the landing page.
snapchat Your Snapchat Friendships Now Have Their Own Profiles - and Merchandise:
Snapchat is rolling out what it calls "friendship profiles" to capture all the shared media you've exchanged with friends and groups in a single place. In addition to profiles, Snap will begin selling Bitmoji merchandise featuring the company's personalized avatars. It's also introducing what it describes as a "comic strip" that will feature you and your friends as Bitmoji in a cartoon that appears in the Discover feed.
