Twitter's Testing a New 'Original Tweeter' Tag to Highlight Replies in Threads: The tag, which highlights the person who began the conversation within tweet threads, is now appearing for a small selection of users. The new test looks to make it easier to quickly understand what's happening within tweet threads, which, similar to Twitter's color-coded replies (also in testing), could significantly change the way responses appear on the platform in future. |

Travel Booking is Finally Coming to Instagram Stories: Facebook officials disclosed that the social network now has two million Stories' advertisers across its platforms, and this year the company will focus on making their advertisements more relevant and much more transactional, adding the feature to 'swipe up' directly to book travel. |

YouTube Updates Recommendations Algorithm to Lessen the Spread of 'Borderline Content': After complaints that YouTube has essentially been promoting conspiracy theories and fake news-type content through its recommendation system, the Google-owned video platform has announced an update to its process which will aim to limit the highlighting of uploads that "come close to - but don't quite cross the line" of violating its Community Guidelines. |
