Facebook Officially Launches "Issues Ads" Tags to Increase Political Transparency: The tags will highlight "issues-based" ads in News Feeds, and give users the ability to learn more about who's funding them, along with access to an archive of all ad content related to each subject. The new measures – which Facebook first announced last October – aim to help better inform users about the motivation and funding behind such posts in the hopes that they will limit outside interference in elections. |

Polls Can Now Be Included in Facebook Messenger Stories: After the success of poll stickers on Instagram, Facebook has elected to extend the feature to Messenger Stories. While users have been able to create in-chat polls between group chats, users now will be able to open up polls to even more Facebook friends for responses. |

Facebook Is Releasing 3 Features to Make Its Stories Easier to Use: Three new features are coming to Facebook Stories, initially launching in India and going global shortly thereafter. First, photos and videos captured from the app will be able to be saved to Facebook accounts for those who have limited space on their devices. These photos and videos will also be able to be edited and shared later. Secondly, users will gain the ability to share voice posts using the audio option in Facebook Camera. Finally, the social network is testing an archive for users to save Stories, which will only be able to be viewed by the users who created them. |

Facebook Tests New Rating System for Brand Pages: The new Facebook business score gives you a sample size (on desktop) for context, and is based on more than straight user feedback, as per the platform's current star ratings system. The score is based on multiple ratings, reviews and recommendations people share about Pages on Facebook. By taking into account more than direct audience ratings, Facebook will expand its capacity to uncover more relevant business for users. |

Instagram is Letting Users Share Posts Directly to Their Stories: The line between Instagram posts and Stories is getting even thinner today. There's a new feature that will let users share posts — both from their own account and from public accounts they follow — directly to their Story as a sticker. Instagram imagines the feature will be used to help promote friends and brands you like on your own Story. Any post that you share to your Story will still include the original poster's username, along with a link back to the original post. |

Snapchat's Redesigned Redesign Starts Rolling Out: Snapchat is currently rolling out yet another redesign to its app for iOS users. Snap says the new layout puts Snaps and Chats in chronological order again and moves Stories from your friends back to the right-hand side of the app. |

Snapchat launches its first Lens that reacts to sound: Snapchat has rolled out the first ever Lens that reacts not just to what it sees, but also what it hears. Snapchat states this is the first of many and plans to launch more Lenses that react to sound over the coming weeks. |

Pinterest is Testing Promoted Video at Max Width: Several brands are testing Pinterest's new promoted video capabilities at max width, which brings wider videos to feed and search in mobile. Recent data shows that users are 1.6 times more likely to say that videos from brands add to their experience and 2.6 times more likely to make purchases after viewing videos. Additionally, 67% of Pinterest video viewers said those videos inspired them to take action, compared with 32% for other platforms. This ad type will be rolling out to more brands in Pinterest's Ads Manager later this year. |
