facebook The GDPR Is Coming and Will Change Facebook Ad Targeting:
The General Data Protection Regulation kicks in on May 25, and it is poised to change how Facebook targets ads. Facebook will no longer be able to process news feed posts for ad-targeting purposes, unless those posts are marked "public" or "friends of friends" because they tend to include what the GDPR defines as "special categories of data," according to sources. Ethnicity, religious beliefs, political affiliation and sexual orientation are the kinds of data defined as special categories.
facebook Facebook Releases Updated Privacy Tools and Settings:
The new features are in compliance with the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and will apply to all users across the world (with some regional variations).
instagram Instagram Allows Users to Download Their Data to Maintain Transparency:
Instagram now allows users to download a copy of the profile of all the information they have shared. The move will further aid Instagram users to keep track of how much of their data is on the platform and assist Facebook to comply with the forthcoming European data privacy rule.
instagram Instagram Is Working on a New Q and A Sticker Option for Instagram Stories:
Instagram continues to push ahead with new Stories features and tools with the development of a new Q and A sticker option for Stories, which would enable users to pose a question within the Stories flow, but the response to that query would be private. The feature could be used to pose a question related to a new product release and give users the chance to provide honest feedback, without fear of having their question exposed for all to see. This could also help for simple queries or questions that users don't feel comfortable posting in a public forum.
instagram New Instagram Feature: Focus Portrait Mode for Instagram Stories:
The latest Instagram Stories feature is called Focus, which you'll find alongside other popular Instagram Stories features like Boomerang or Superzoom. As the name suggests, the feature focuses on a subject's face while blurring the rest of the photo's background, creating a professional, depth-of-field effect– and some seriously good selfies.
snapchat Snapchat's New Updates Set to Inspire Creators:
Snap Inc. announced that it will be expanding its developer platform to let creators build face filters for the first time. In addition to the new templates, the Lens Studio is also getting Giphy integration. Snap is also announcing the Official Creator Program, which will reward top creators with extra promotion, technical support, and early access to new features and templates.
