Facebook Marketers Take Note: Facebook is Changing Its Ad Format Next Month:
Over on the Facebook Business blog, The Social Network has announced that - starting from August 19th - mobile News Feed ads will be compressed in order to "match the look and feel of the new Facebook design introduced earlier this year".
Facebook Facebook is Testing More Ads in Shorter Watch Clips:
Facebook is tweaking its video strategy with Watch, its 2-year-old hub for long-form video. It's testing ads in shorter video clips and giving creators tools to control which ads appear in the videos. The changes show that Facebook is still figuring out the specifics of advertising for Watch.
Twitter Twitter Rolls Out New Detailed Follower Listings in Notifications:
After trying it out with selected users over the past few months, Twitter has announced that it will now roll out a new format for follower notifications, which will include a larger profile panel within your Notifications tab, and enable you to follow back direct from the alert.
Twitter Twitter Announces Full Rollout of the Platform's New Desktop Experience:
After testing a new version of its desktop UI with selected users over the past few months, Twitter has announced that it's now rolling out the updated Twitter.com experience to all users.
Instagram Instagram Will Now Hide Likes in 6 More Countries:
A few months back, Instagram started testing a design tweak that would no longer show the total number of likes other users' posts had received, although you could still see the specific number of users that liked your photos and videos. Initially rolled out in just Canada, the design shift is now rolling out to users in six more countries, indicating that a full roll out may arrive in the future.
Instagram Instagram is Testing a New Listing of Stories Mentions to Notify Users:
Given the rise of Instagram Stories, it's no surprise to see that Instagram is now looking to add new notification tools and options to help boost user engagement, and to ensure that people are aware of relevant mentions. The latest tool on this front comes in the form of a new 'Stories About You' listing on the app's notification tab. At this stage, the option is in test mode and a full rollout has not been announced.
Pinterest Pinterest Launches New Mobile Ad Tool to Help Create Campaigns on the Go:
The new interface will also make campaign controls and editing options available via the mobile app, as well as performance metrics, including advertising spend, remaining campaign duration, impressions, clicks, click-through rate and saves.
