Facebook Tests TikTok-Like Short-Form Video Feed in its Main App:  Facebook has launched a new test of a feed of short-form video clips in its main app, exclusively in the Indian market, where TikTok is currently banned.
Facebook Begins Merging Instagram and Messenger Chats in New Update:  Facebook has started flipping the switch on integrating the chat systems for Instagram and Messenger. Some noticed an update screen popped up in Instagram’s mobile app with the message “There’s a New Way to Message on Instagram” with a list of features including a “new colorful look for your chats,” more emoji reactions, swipe-to-reply, and an option to “chat with friends who use Facebook.”

Twitter Officially Launches New 'Quote Tweets' Count on Main Tweet Display: As reported previously, Twitter launched a new, separate listing of 'Retweets' and 'Retweets with Comment' within the tweet detail. However, Twitter has now settled on 'Quote Tweets' over 'Retweets with Comment'. It's not a major change, but it is a relevant one, and it will make it easier to see how people are reacting to each tweet.

Instagram Guides may soon allow creators to recommend places, products and more:  The feature, which launched in May, has allowed select organizations and experts to share resources related to managing your mental health. A handful of creators first gained access to the feature, and have since posted their wellness tips on their Instagram profiles in a separate tab, called “Guides.” Instagram is developing tools that will allow creators to build out Guides for other types of tips and recommendations — like recommended places or even recommended products.
Instagram Rolls Out Suggested Posts at the End of Your Following Feed to All Users:  After testing out different variations of the option, Instagram has now officially added a new listing of suggested posts at the end of your main feed, for whenever you scroll through all of the latest updates from the people and profiles that you're following.

TikTok Will be Sold in a Matter of Days and CEO Resigns:   CNBC reported that the sale of TikTok to a US bidder or consortium is expected to be announced "in the coming days." Oracle-lead consortium has now become the preferred bidder for the app but Walmart has now shown interest.
How Travel Brands Are Using Pinterest to Inspire Travel Again:  Pinterest has published a new guide outlining how travel brands are using the platform to signal recovery to travelers.
