Hello again from beautiful Los Cabos-
As we continue to navigate this unprecedented time, our goal is to keep all our trade partners informed about the state of travel to Los Cabos. Our top priority is the health and safety of our residents and the travelers who visit our destination every year. Local public health and government officials continue to implement policies in Los Cabos to ensure that all of the necessary precautions are being taken to keep our communities safe.
This includes:
- Baja California Sur has installed sanitary filters at all points of entry to conduct passenger wellness checks, including taking the temperatures of all arriving passengers
- Containment measures are in place should a passenger register an abnormally high temperature and exhibiting potential symptoms of the virus
- There will be background checks for all passengers to confirm where they have traveled in the past 14 days
Also, given the recent cancellations announced by all main cruise lines internationally, the Cruise Port in Los Cabos is not welcoming any cruises at this time. This measure has positively affected the destination, allowing local authorities and travel partners to reallocate all resources to the airport and ensure all air travelers receive the attention they deserve upon arrival.
I’d also like to share the latest update on the impact of COVID-19 in Mexico. As of today, the Ministry of Health for Mexico has confirmed 82 cases in the country. None of these cases are in Los Cabos. As such, there are currently no travel restrictions to enter or depart Mexico, including Canadian visitors. Our hotel partners have committed to apply a flexible reservation policy, without penalties, should any of your clients choose to postpone their visit to Los Cabos. Please contact the hotels directly for specific guidelines as they may vary by property.
The Los Cabos Tourism Board’s COVID-19 response team continues to be available to respond to any specific questions that you may have when booking a trip to Los Cabos. If you have any questions, please send us an email. Additionally, we encourage you to consult our online toolkit and to check real-time statistics of coronavirus in the state, click here.
As always, we value our partnership and trust that our collective efforts will lessen the overall impact of this challenging situation.
Thank you!
