HR IN ACTION
The Global HR Team continues to work to analyze and develop an action plan from the 2021 Employee Engagement Survey results. Some key findings include the following: On a scale of 1 to 5 (1 being strongly disagree/dissatisfied and 5 being strongly agree/satisfied), you indicated an overall satisfaction with your role in the company as 3.75. While this is not bad, it is slightly down from the last survey in 2019 at 3.93. You also indicated the likelihood that you would recommend MMGY Global to a friend or relative as 4.03, which is about the same as was in 2019 at 4.01. We are still sorting through the questions and comments to narrow down the overall improvement areas to address, but one area we have already completed is flexible work arrangements with our new flexible work policy that we announced last month! More to come next month as we start to share identified focus areas and subsequent action plans.

Policy & Benefits
Employee Referral Program
For U.S. Employees: Remember to participate in MMGY’s employee referral program! The employee referral benefit program rewards employees for recommending a candidate for an open position in our company. If the recommended candidate is hired on with MMGY, the employee will receive a cash reward based on the position. Please reach out to your HR partner for specific details regarding the referral amounts.

If you know of someone who would meet the qualifications for a specific role and be a great addition to the team, please complete the employee referral form located on the Intranet (Tools & Resources>Human Resources>Employee Resources>Recruiting) and email the form and a copy of the candidate’s resume to recruitment@mmgyglobal.com.

We post all open positions within the company on the MMGY Global website. All full-time MMGY Global employees are eligible for the referral reward except for any employees on the executive and management committee, vice presidents, human resources personnel, and managers with hiring authority and/or supervision over the referred candidate. For specific questions regarding the program please reach out to your HR partner.

*While the employee referral program is not yet in effect for the UK team, HR plans to consolidate/implement one global referral program in the future.

Company Mission, Purpose & Values
July Is Disability Pride Month
There is a lack of representation and an ongoing stigma attached to people with disabilities, even in the workplace. Disability Pride Month is a chance for everyone to become better allies, and educate themselves and others about ableism.

What is ableism?
Ableism is any form of discrimination in favor of non-disabled people. It comes in many different forms that range from subtly offensive language to outright prejudice. Some lesser-known examples of ableism include sayings such as “That’s so lame,” or “My suggestion fell on deaf ears.” Using a class of disability as an idiom or to illustrate a point can offend and alienate disabled people.

Ableism can also come from well-intended actions. It’s important that disabilities be acknowledged without unduly affecting the expectations of the disabled individual. Ignoring a disability or pretending it doesn’t exist is a form of ableism. The language we use and the way we acknowledge or fail to acknowledge disabilities are just a couple of common examples of ableism that can occur in the workplace. Let Disability Pride Month serve as a chance to highlight ableism and how it plays into our own unconscious biases.
