Hi KC office,
For some in the LGBTQ+ community, coming out is no longer a big deal. But for others, coming out presents an enormous challenge – there’s a very real fear of facing discrimination, violence, bullying or judgment by friends, family and coworkers.
The PRIDE ERG recognizes the significance of National Coming Out Day on Tuesday, October 11. It’s a day to share your true self as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, and to offer your support and solidarity as an ally.
The PRIDE ERG committee has several ways for you to celebrate National Coming Out Day:
Tuesday, Oct. 11
Wear your PRIDE pin! To receive one, make a $5 Venmo donation to @MMGYPRIDE (if you have any issues with sending money, please reach out to Tori Baldwin) and choose your pin. Options are below. We’ll deliver your pins on Monday for you to wear on Tuesday. All proceeds will go to the Kansas City Center for Inclusion, and MMGY Global’s PRIDE ERG will match every donation made. You’ll also be entered into a raffle to win one of two $25 gift cards from The General Store.
