Description
Most of us haven’t thought a lot about gender, including how we came to understand it and the
influences that have shaped it. This workshop will examine gender, utilizing the Dimensions of Gender framework that breaks this complex topic into an accessible way to think and talk about gender. We’ll discuss some of the language that participants may be hearing in the media, at work and in family conversations, and we will explore how gender continues to evolve over time. Finally, the workshop will reveal the ways in which shifting notions of gender are relevant to meeting the organization’s objectives.
Speaker:
Lisa Kenney is the CEO of Reimagine Gender and the former executive director of Gender Spectrum. Leveraging decades of corporate leadership experience, Lisa has worked with brands of all sizes to help them understand gender and implement changes across the organization. Lisa is a frequent speaker at conferences, including SXSW, the 3% Conference, Institute for the Future, Techonomy, Sustainable Brands and The Shared Value Leadership Summit. In addition to cowriting "The Transgender Teen: A Handbook for Parents and Professionals Supporting Transgender and Non-Binary Teens," Lisa has authored several articles on gender in publications including the Harvard Business Review, Fast Company, Quartz at Work and Fortune. |
