Following a lengthy rebidding process, congratulations to the Visit California team for a successful renewal of our three-year PR and influencer engagement contract. We couldn’t be prouder of our partnership and the dreams we achieved together, generating a whopping 5.9 billion media impressions (as of April) in our current contract. With the state officially reopened for tourism as of last week, our team has been going full speed ahead to help Visit California in its recovery efforts by reinforcing the California Dream, driving interest and engagement from national and regional media, influencers and consumers, and working with Visit California's destination partners to showcase all that California has to offer both in urban markets and throughout every region of the state. Stay tuned for more from the team in the next edition where we'll tell you all about our Dream On program and the exclusive experiences that are happening this week for several lucky consumers. A big shout out to the integrated Visit California team of Sara Gorgon, Danny Guerrero, Brandon Billings, Odalys Flores, Jen Reisfeld, Alexis Whitley, Amanda Ostrove, Megan Nehme, Mackenzie Bromley, Megan Conder, Jenna Larsen and Julie Freeman, and to Justin Farmer, Rick Dunn, Chris Luckey, Christy Vaught and others on the creative team who worked with us throughout the rebid to bring our proposal and presentation to life. |

The office services team has grown by one this week! Please welcome Tori Baldwin who joins us as an Office Coordinator in Kansas City! With a background in entertainment management and experience in marketing and meeting coordination, Tori brings a lot to the table and we're thrilled to have her on board. She will be training over the next few weeks, so if you see her at the front desk or around the office, please make her feel welcome! We'll circle back with KC staff soon to explain Tori's role in a bit more detail and what you can expect support from her on. |

You and Your Benefits
What to know (in case you didn't) |
MMGY Global offers a Professional Education Program to full-time employees who have been employed for at least one year. MMGY may elect to pay the registration fees for attending travel events or pay the dues for professional organizations (i.e., Advertising Club, PRSA, SATW, Addy Award Show, HSMAI Adrian Award Show). MMGY may also consider paying a portion of the costs for attending training or seminars directly related to an employee’s work.
These expenses are based on budget allowances. All requests must have written approval from your supervisor and the President/CEO prior to the expense being incurred and before the beginning of the event, class or seminar. Receipts are necessary for reimbursement and must be submitted along with an expense report via Workamajig within one month following completion of the training course. |

CheaPCaribbean Visit |
Last week, the KC office hosted our clients from CheapCaribbean as well as a few interoffice colleagues for our first in-person planning meeting in over a year! Amber Kuhnert, Lisa Kinney and Allyson Carpenter traveled in from LA, and Maggie LaCasse and Jaime Lusher made the trip here from NYC. The team was all smiles as they led a productive creative brainstorm session, enjoyed some festive cocktails and bonded with the clients face-to-face! |

Strategy + Travel Insights |
Family travelers are eager to travel but don't feel understood by travel brands
|
According to Mintel's latest report on travel planning and inspiration, families with children under the age of 11 say that travel is a top spending priority for them coming out of the pandemic (72%), but a majority don't feel that travel brands understand their travel needs (53%). This same group is also more likely to worry about making the best choices when planning a trip. There is an opportunity to seek out understanding from families and build more robust programs for this audience. Source: Mintel, Vacation Planning and Inspiration – U.S. – May 2021 |

Return to Fort Myers |
Kim Lenox and Kylee Sprengel made their first trip back to Fort Myers to visit with the fabulous client and their beloved colleague, Elizabeth Escribano! The new Luminary Hotel and Oxbow (bend in the river) restaurant overlooking the Caloosahatchee River is a game changer for downtown Fort Myers. Can't wait for the new Amphitheater to be complete! |
