Huge shoutout to Alexis Whitley for the hard work put into two "Kyoto Live" events last week! Per the request of the client and one of the local tour operators, Alexis helped Mandi Hefflinger arrange two live geisha experiences streamed from a geisha house in Kyoto – one for travel agents, and one for media. The activity took weeks of planning and outreach to attendees, as well as tedious liaising between the client and local tour operator to make this happen. Thanks for all you do, Alexis! |

If you haven't worked on a project with Sarika Chawla yet, you should. Her positive attitude and collaborative nature are contagious – that and she is a thrill to see in action coming up with ideas to tackle your every content need. And now you will have even more opportunity since she is owning her department! The Narrative Content & Strategy department creates longer-form editorial content (advertorials, emails, blogs, etc.) and provides editorial oversight to ensure that creative work adheres to brand voice and story pillars while aligning tone to reach personas across appropriate channels.

DEIC
|
MMGY Global's first all employee DEI survey closed Monday, March 8. Our final participation rate was 77.5%. Thank you for your participation! Your open feedback is an invaluable tool for our organization's success in diversity, equity and inclusion. Your responses will contribute to our analyses in further establishing DEI baselines and will provide additional input influencing our internal DEI efforts.
What’s Next?
The DEI RECE subgroup has collected the completed surveys and will begin compiling and analyzing the results. Below are the next two steps:
- Results Overview: In the next few weeks, the RECE group will present the results to the broader DEI Council, the global HR team and to leadership. In addition to the results, we will be presenting and refining the proposed action plan.
- Action Plan: Within one to two months, we will share our top three results and roll out the action plan!

In Support of the Asian American Community |
We stand with our Asian American colleagues, travel industry partners and all communities to denounce the violence, crime and racism that is afflicting this group. DEI Council member Jacqueline Yu drafted a thoughtful piece about the importance of Asian Americans to the vitality of the tourism industry. It illuminates ways in which travel brands can help reverse the damages done by the most recent incidents of hate and racism against this group. We encourage you to read it and share it with your colleagues and clients, and in your work find ways to advocate for a more equitable and fair society for our Asian American colleagues and communities. |

Americans’ positivity toward travel reached more pandemic-era peaks as we continue to see slow but steady growth. In a sign of confidence about travel’s safety, Americans traveling for spring break look to be prioritizing new destinations for these trips, which is interesting given the trend around “returning to what is familiar.” |

We are pleased to share coverage of MMGY Global in AFAR's The Power of Women in Travel article.
Through a series of interviews, including one with our very own Katie Briscoe as well as client Intrepid Travel, the article beautifully explores the role of women in the travel industry and the impact travel has on women. Data provided by our MMGY Travel Intelligence team was also included.
A strong showing for MMGY Global!
