We are excited to share that the East Meets West and Macao Makes it to GIPHY campaigns executed by MMGY NJF for Macao, which MMGY Myriad branded as the Dream Now and Travel Later campaign for the award submission, have been awarded by the 2021 PATA Gold Awards as the Grand Award Winner – the sole Best of Show Award in the Marketing Category. We definitely beat out a list of top destinations across the Pacific Asia region. This is the second prestigious award for the Dream Now and Travel Later campaign that has been awarded to MMGY Myriad and MMGY NJF. In March 2021, the campaign was distinguished with a Silver Global Social Media Award for Best Integrated Campaign. We are so proud to see the joint efforts from both brands be recognized by industry leaders. Big round of applause to Megan Conder, Jaime Lusher and Sarah DeLaRiva.

The L.A. office celebrated the office reopening on the first day of Hispanic Heritage Month, so naturally the celebration called for an array of Hispanic foods! With dishes from local Cuban, Peruvian and Mexican restaurants, we gathered for a late afternoon happy hour to celebrate being in each other's company once again.

Reevaluating Priorities + Consumer Behaviors
The pandemic has made people reevaluate their priorities and reminded them not to take time with friends and family for granted. According to recent research from Mintel on Winter Holiday Shopping and Consumer Behaviors, consumers are showing a willingness to buy experiential gifts, with a majority having the attitude that they are "better" than tangible goods. As we think about holiday messaging and pushing advance bookings for 2022, this is a shopping behavior to keep in mind.
2021 MMGY Global Destination Marketing Technology Survey: Wave 2
In partnership with Connect Travel and Simpleview, we recently completed Wave 2 of the 2021 MMGY Global Destination Marketing Technology Survey. With input from over 175 destination marketers, this report demonstrates changing attitudes and outlooks on marketing technology's role in destination marketing.
Vistas Latinas:
A Landmark Study on U.S. Travelers of Hispanic Descent

MMGY Global announced today key findings from its latest study on underrepresented travelers, Vistas Latinas: A Landmark Study on U.S. Travelers of Hispanic Descent. The study, whose name means Latin viewpoints, is the first travel research of its kind to examine the attitudes, opinions and sentiment of travelers from the United States’ fastest growing demographic group. Vistas Latinas is also the first study to assess the spending power of U.S. Hispanic travelers, finding they spent $113.9 billion on domestic leisure travel in 2019 and accounted for 13% of all domestic leisure travel that year. The full report details far more than spending power in order to paint a more nuanced picture of Hispanic travelers – revealing how identity, language, culture, age and other factors impact travel behaviors, decisions and preferences. All proceeds from the sale of the study will be donated to Travel Unity, a non-profit focused on increasing diversity in the world of travel through individual and community empowerment.

Like many last year, Brent Anderson got a bike and took up cycling in a big way. To the point that he recently was goaded by two biking pals into riding the Katy Trail, a former rail line that stretches across the entire state of Missouri from Kansas City to St. Louis. Over four days they rode through former farming towns and wound along the Missouri river for 260 miles, then got some beer and collapsed on the train ride home.
