A new touring option has just been introduced at Uluru! The Uluru Audio guide is a GPS-triggered audio commentary device providing guests with more than 100 stories and facts about the outback icon and surrounding areas. The device is easy to use, informative and available in multiple languages. Because audio snippets are triggered by the user’s GPS location, it’s a great option for hands-free touring by car or on foot. The audio guide includes stories about the local culture and history as well as the nature and wildlife that comprise Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park!

A New Vegan Café in Darwin is Now Open!
Ebb & Flow is the newest addition to the beautiful Cullen Bay marina in Darwin. Owned and operated by sisters Di and Liz Goitia, their goal is to change the perception of plant-based food through simplicity, passion and flavor. Ebb & Flow will serve lunch and dinner on weekdays, and all three daily meals on weekends. The all-vegan menu includes burrito bowls, pastries and waffles, cold tap beers and even vegan wines and cocktails.

For the first time, the Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair included ways to participate in events digitally, allowing the fair to continue – even for international audiences – amid COVID-19. The slew of events included the Indigenous Fashion Awards, which highlighted the work of 33 First Nations designers and artists. Women’s Wear Daily covered the awards as well as the winners and their work.

Since 1951, Alice Springs Located on the outskirts of Nitmiluk National Park, Cicada Lodge provides guests with a quaint, calm and relaxing atmosphere where they can unwind after exploring Nitmiluk Gorge or adventuring to nearby Katherine Hot Springs. Entirely owned and operated by the Jawoyn original owners, each room includes Aboriginal artwork from local artists and dishes prepared in the restaurant often include celebrated Aboriginal ingredients. The lodge is currently closed but plans to start accepting bookings in April 2021.

Outdoor dining may be a necessity amid our current climate but dining al fresco has been a staple in the NT for centuries. One of our favorite ways to enjoy the flavors of the outback is at Kings Canyon Resort’s “Under A Desert Moon” dining experience. While closed for the remainder of the 2020 season, the “Under A Desert Moon” team hopes to return to their regular May through October season next year.
