NT Featured in The New York Times'
"52 Places to Go in 2023"
The Northern Territory has been ranked as one of The New York Times' top 52 places to visit in 2023. Uluru has been highlighted as a top priority, with the publication stating that “At Uluru, time stretches, dissolves. Over 500 million years old, the 1,142-foot sandstone monolith in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park is a shape-shifter: aflame in pink, orange and violet through the day; its crevices gush with the rain, its surroundings erupt with wildflowers.” Read the article below for additional detail.

NT featured in Travel and Leisure – Kangaroo Sanctuary
The Kangaroo Sanctuary in Alice Springs has recently featured in the Travel and Leisure online article. Chris “Brolga” Barns, the operator of the sanctuary, says “Kangaroos are Australia’s most iconic animal, but they’re also our most common animal, especially here in the Red Centre.” He adds, “That’s why I built this sanctuary here — because it’s where it was needed. If you like remoteness, big blue skies, and untamed wilderness, Alice Springs is an incredibly attractive place to be — and this is my contribution to protecting that beauty.” Read the article below.

Rainbow Valley
Rainbow Valley is renowned for its sandstone bluffs and cliffs with bands of different colored rock. An easy day trip from Alice Springs, the valley is most spectacular in the early morning light or late afternoon sun when it changes from ochre red to orange and purple, or after heavy rainfall when the whole scene is reflected in the claypans. The Rainbow Valley Conservation Reserve is about 46 miles south of Alice Springs and is best accessed by four-wheel drive. You can join a tour departing from Alice Springs, which provides insight into the Aboriginal cultural significance of the area.
