Papua New Guinea - a million different journeys

A Thousand New Adventures
For the first time, Papua New Guinea will host the World Indigenous Business Forum (WIBF) this year. A steering committee has been established for the two-day event, as this is the country's biggest national event since the APEC meeting in 2018. Upon announcing the committee, PNG's Minister for International Trade and Investment Richard Maru said, “I am looking forward to a committee that will think outside the box, a committee that will work to deliver the best indigenous program ever put together by any country and a committee that will work towards ensuring that.” The event will provide local micro, small and medium enterprises the opportunity to showcase their products, services and businesses. It is expected that the WIBF will generate US$5 million in foreign exchange earnings from international delegates coming into Papua New Guinea.
