On June 17, Rwanda announced that the country has officially reopened. Later, on July 6, Rwanda announced that commercial flights will be welcomed back into the country starting August 1. The well-being of travelers is Rwanda’s top priority, and the country has put in place robust health and safety guidelines to ensure travel and activities can be done safely. All tourism activities, including primate trekking within the national parks, have now resumed and abide by enhanced COVID-19 prevention measures.

Rwanda’s Covid-19 Updates
|
While tourism activities have resumed in Rwanda, we understand that testing requirements and personal comfort will still affect many travelers’ plans. For this reason, cancellation and postponement policies have been updated once again to accommodate travelers impacted during this time. For those still able to visit, there are stringent COVID-19 guidelines in place, which include wearing a mask at all times in public places, maintaining physical distancing and more. These guidelines can be found here.

Rwanda chosen as “Best New Luxury Destination” by Robb Report
|
Editors at luxury lifestyle publication Robb Report named Rwanda this year’s “Best New Luxury Destination” within their annual roundup of the “Best of the Best.” Rwanda appeared alongside other world-class destinations awarded similar titles, such as “Best Adventure Destination,” (Patagonia, Chile), “Best Short-Haul Beach” (Los Cabos) and more. Rwanda’s place was secured thanks in part to new luxury accommodation options like One&Only Gorilla’s Nest and Singita Kwitonda Lodge.
