IMPORTANT UPDATES for visiting Rwanda
Visit Rwanda
Rwanda’s quick response to COVID-19 and implementation of health and safety precautions paired with an advancing vaccine distribution throughout the country has allowed Rwanda to resume with select major events. This month, Kigali played host to both the 13th annual Tour du Rwanda cycling race as well as the debut of the NBA’s Basketball League Africa, which invited 12 teams from across Africa to play in the inaugural season of 26 games in Kigali Arena. These prestigious events alongside other MICE gatherings are helping Rwanda pave the way for a “new normal” of safe and organized large-scale meetings and events.

COVID-19 Update
Rwanda’s COVID-19 Updates
On March 15, the Rwandan Government revised COVID-19 safety precautions based on recent case numbers. These changes include that physical meetings may resume while not exceeding 30% of venue capacity, with COVID-19 testing required for meetings of more than 20 individuals. Restaurants and cafes remain open at a 30% occupancy limit, and all businesses must close no later than 8 p.m. Travelers must still present a negative COVID-19 PCR test when arriving in Kigali and will be tested once again on arrival and pre-departure. All other tourism activities will continue in adherence to COVID-19 guidelines.
