Earlier this month, the Rwandan Ministry of Health announced changes to the policy regarding testing before arrival that gives travelers more flexibility. Now, all visitors to Rwanda must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test certificate in hand that was conducted within 120 hours of departure, which means travelers must be tested and get results no more than five days before their first flight. This allows for more flexibility than the initial 72-hour window that was required upon Rwanda's reopening on August 1. Rwanda Rebounds – Tourism Returns
Inbound tourism to Rwanda has shown a promising return after borders reopened to international travelers on August 1. Luxury hotels in Rwanda have begun welcoming guests once again; Singita Kwitonda Lodge and Bisate Lodge both reopened their doors on August 15, and One&Only Gorilla's Nest reopened September 1. Throughout August, thousands of international and domestic tourists visited these hotels and Rwanda's top attractions and national parks. Visit Rwanda looks forward to welcoming thousands of more guests in the next few months.

Gorilla Trekking has Resumed with COVID-19 Safety in Mind
Volcanoes National Park is welcoming visitors back while keeping the gorillas' and tourists' safety top of mind. Before and during any gorilla trek, guests and staff are expected to wear masks at all times as well as use the provided hand-washing stations set up at all entry points to the park. Guests and staff are also expected to clean and disinfect their footwear before visiting the park and maintain social distancing throughout the trekking experience.
