IMPORTANT UPDATES for visiting Rwanda
Visit Rwanda
Effective January 10, the mandatory three-day quarantine was revised to a mandatory 24-hour quarantine period. All arriving passengers must quarantine for 24 hours at a designated hotel while waiting for results from the PCR test administered upon arrival in Kigali. The quarantining travelers must bear the cost of the hotel stay. In addition to the required 24-hour quarantine, an additional mandatory PCR test must be performed on the traveler’s third day at a designated testing site (Camp Kigali or the nearest Provincial or District Hospitals for those not in Kigali) in Rwanda at their own cost. Finally, travelers must present negative PCR results from a test taken within 24 hours prior to visiting a national park. Those who have reserved park permits for no more than two consecutive days can apply their negative PCR results to both visits.

The King’s Palace Museum
The King’s Palace Museum
At the King’s Palace Museum, visitors can explore a reconstruction of the traditional royal home. Historically, Nyanza was considered the heart of Rwanda, as the noble family decided to live here after spending many years moving around. Visitors are often intrigued by the Inyambo cattle, whose massive horns are eye-catching. Rwanda’s monarchy ended in 1962 when the country gained independence from colonial rule, but the palace is still a site frequented by travelers.
