On March 2, 2022, San Jose Theaters updated its health and safety protocols to make it easier for guests to enjoy live entertainment, concerts, and events. In alignment with the State of California and Santa Clara County, events with less than 1,000 attendees will no longer require pre-entry covid verification. Events with over 1,000 attendees will require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test for guests 2 years or older. A negative test must be conducted one day prior to the event for antigen tests and two days prior for PCR tests. Stricter guidelines may apply for your event at the discretion of the artist, promoter, or event organizer. Full vaccination status is currently defined as having completed the entire recommended series of vaccination with a vaccine authorized to prevent COVID-19 by the FDA or by the World Health Organization at least two weeks before the event date. Boosters are not mandatory under these new guidelines. Accepted forms of proof of vaccination include a CDC vaccination card, a photo of a vaccination card, documentation from a healthcare provider, and a personal digital COVID-19 vaccine record with a QR code. Accepted forms of proof of a negative test include a printed document or electronic test result displayed on a phone from the test provider or laboratory, which includes the person’s name, type of test, and date performed. State of California guidelines, unvaccinated guests over the age of 2 are still required to wear masks in all indoor settings. Exemptions include persons younger than 2 years old, persons with a medical condition that prevents wearing a mask, persons who are hearing impaired or communicating with a person who is hearing impaired.
