From the beginning, SiliCon has always been by and for makers. No matter what you love to create, you'll find a spot at the Savage MakerVerse. It's a 4,500-square-foot makerspace right on the show floor – home to cosplay contests, speed build challenges and workshops hosted by your favorite makers.

Q. What advice do you have for young makers?
A. Hold those people you work well with close. Stay with them. You will always make each other better.

Q. What can we expect from SiliCon?
A. It's going to be quite intimate. [Last year] felt close in a way that was really, really lovely. And that yielded a really lovely Con.

Q. How can we improve tech and science literacy?
A. We need, as a culture, to tell better stories [about science]. That's top line to me.

Q. This year's theme is Create the Improbable. What does that mean to you?
A. We are improbable. Every time we push past the things that are in our way and gravitate toward something out of love – that's what creation really is.
