Enjoy GloWild—an illuminating new evening event at the KC Zoo. This breathtaking lantern festival lights up the park after dark with steel and silk sculptures depicting oversized wildlife, towering flowers, cultural highlights and other vibrant works of art. Plan your visit between now and December 11!

All month long, the KC Zoo has special events included in your admission. Bring the whole family to Boo at the Zoo for activities such as trick-or-treating, a pumpkin toss and special photo-ops. Or you can stop by for themed fall fun during four weekends of Hoots & Howls, an all-ages, zoo-wide event.

Watch polar bears in action, swing by the Orangutan Canopy and get to know the resident penguins in the Helzberg Penguin Plaza. Even the animals get into the spirit of fall as they bat, roll and play with pumpkins in special enrichment activities.

Coming in fall 2023, the KC Zoo will unveil a brand-new attraction—a 650,000-gallon aquarium featuring more than 8,000 animals and sea creatures. Fall in love with marine life and learn more about conservation efforts to help support these underwater worlds.
