+ New Business
Our President, Katie Briscoe, presented the closing keynote at the Women in Travel Summit that took place in downtown Kansas City. Katie also had the opportunity to speak at the IMPACT Sustainability Travel & Tourism Conference, which aims to create open dialogue about innovative and collaborative sustainable solutions in travel and tourism development across Canada. Great job, Katie!
MMGY's social team is working with the U.S. Travel Association to help reimagine its Travel Recovery Dashboard. The social team will provide social listening data specific to tracking traveler demand, business travel recovery and in-bound international travel to the U.S. The new dashboard is expected to launch in the next couple of months. Highlighted below is an example of business travel recovery – registering an increase of more than 50% in social mentions from March 2022 to April 2022.
MMGY's social team was a featured presenter on the mainstage as part of Adweek's Social Media Week NYC event. Brandon Billings, VP of Social Media & Content Strategy, took part in a panel discussion on how top agencies are using consumer and market data to gain a solid understanding of audiences and opportunities to engage with them.
The Employee Engagement Survey is coming soon! From June 6 through June 20, we will be conducting our global employee survey. We conduct this annual, anonymous survey in order to continue our understanding and efforts to improve employee morale, satisfaction and engagement at MMGY Global. Your opinions are important to us, and we are listening. Plan to participate and let your voice be heard!

Strategy + Travel Insights
Price is even more of a consideration as consumers grapple with a cost-of-living crisis. According to GWI, around two-thirds of consumers in nine global markets expect inflation to have a moderate or dramatic impact on them personally, with younger consumers more likely to say this. However, not all products and services are created equal when it comes to what travelers are deciding to be price conscious about. While 42% of U.S. vacationers say they will be price conscious about travel, they are even more likely to be price conscious about groceries (56%), utilities (55%), personal transportation (51%), housing (47%) and clothing (44%).
More Americans identify as LGBTQ+ than ever before, as new polling data estimates that 7% of the U.S. population identifies as LGBTQ+. This segment not only continues to grow in size but also in spending power, so it's imperative for brands to recognize and understand the influences and motivators of LGBTQ+ individuals. According to a recent study from Mintel, 70% of LGBTQ+ consumers say that how they view the world is impacted more by their life experiences than it is their sexual orientation. Meaning, a person's sexual orientation and gender identity is not the only facet of their identity that informs their worldview. Want to read the full study? Reach out to the strategy team.
